Say Bali, and most people conjure up the images of paradise and culture. A plethora of activities abound: A journey to the mountains through the soft terraced rice – fields on the backroads can be an unforgettable experience. Have a coffee at one of the lookouts on the crater rim overlooking Lake Batur, or perhaps a leisurely lunch in Ubud before browsing the many art galleries, stone mason or woodcarving areas (Ubud and it’s surrounding areas is a town of artists).Ubud also boasts a monkey forest and bird park which the visitor can take a gentle stroll in.

There is excellent diving here, either on the offshore islands or the northeast. You can also dive on the wartime wreck of the USS Liberty or a twin screwed Japanese patrol boat. Also great snorkeling can be had in the Amed area. There are plenty of dive companies that you can choose from.

Finally Bali has an abundance of quality restaurants at varied prices which will delight both budget and wallet as well as the palate. A number of good bars and clubs dependent on your taste abound in the Legian and Seminyak areas and they stay open to the early hours.
